The Season For Steak
Although we truly believe that our premium Galloway beef is simply outstanding all year round, it may come as a surprise to you that there are optimum times throughout the year that our Galloway beef really stands out when it comes to both taste and tenderness.
Jock explains more;
“It has been poor weather for most of the summer with rain continually interrupting short interludes of sunshine. This has been frustrating for farmers wanting to make silage and hay and also for our customers whether working or on holiday. Our Galloway cattle however, have been very happy and growing fast. These cattle are reared mainly on grass and after 4 or 5 months of good growth we now have lots of really good cattle ready for our butchery.
We are therefore able to offer some really good deals on our steaks. Galloway steaks are really outstanding. They have a unique marbling quality with small flecks of fat throughout the meat and minimal fat on the outside. This means they cook beautifully, well worth a try.
If there was ever a good season to try Galloway steak, this is it.
