It is a pleasure to be able to say “Hello” to all our customers. It has always been a dream to be able to supply our own produce direct to our customers and now we can. We will try our very best to make sure the produce is as good as it can be and I would sincerely ask that if you are not completely satisfied with anything at Kilnford please let us know.
Although the last seven weeks has been dominated by the opening of Kilnford work on the farm goes on. We have now just finished lambing all of our Blackface ewes. The weather has been good especially during the last 2 weeks and this has allowed our lambs to get off to a good start with plenty of fresh grass. If you have not already watched the video about our sheep then I recommend you have a look as this will give you an insight in to how we farm. Go to our website www.kilnford.co.uk and click on farm and scroll down. I’m sure you will enjoy it.
Our Belted Galloway herd is starting calving now and the young calves look very cute. I hope to have their video completed fairly soon and will update all our loyalty members by e-mail when that happens. I will be checking our barn owl nesting boxes during May and I hope to be able to pass on the news on that too.
You may have noticed the polytunnel being erected at Kilnford. This is part of the vegetable growing enterprise and we hope to be able to offer the first of our own home grown salad crops very soon. We are working closely with “Firstbase” a local war veteran’s charity jointly producing vegetables and salad crops.
You may also have watched the landscaping still going on at the patio area and play area. I apologise that we don’t have all these things completed but Rome wasn’t built in a day. We have set a high standard and I am determined that will continue but it all takes time. My reward will be if our customers really enjoy their visit to Kilnford.
