It’s not Scotch Lamb… it’s Jock’s Lamb!
If you are heading for Kilnford don’t be put off by having to dodge a few parked cars or even a frustrated ambulance driver it will be all worthwhile! As always a warm welcome awaits you.
You will see we already have snowdrops and some daffodils, (we had our first blooming daffodil below the restaurant before Christmas, is that a record?)
With the first signs of Spring we are already preparing for lambing this week by scanning our ewes to check which ones are having twins and feeding them according to what they need. However if you are shopping you will be pleased to learn this is the best time of year for last year’s lamb and mutton. Blackfaced lambs grow very slowly and after spending their first summer on the high hills and the winter on lowland grass they are now perfect. We do get asked for mutton by the connoisseurs and currently we have available some 3 year old blackface mutton. Superb Whichever you prefer you won’t be disappointed
Enjoy Kilnford!
Jock
