Kilnford Farm Shop & Restaurant, found just off the main A75 trunk road on the outskirts of Dumfries (right next to the site of the new hospital), was built by Jock Rome, a local farmer with a vision to reverse the trend of local shopping by creating a ‘real food hub’ for Dumfries and Galloway.
Kilnford consists of a butcher’s counter selling a full and varied range of our own home reared Galloway beef, Blackface lamb and outdoor reared pork, a well stocked deli and larder showcasing some of Dumfries and Galloway’s best produce such as jams, chutneys and chocolate.
Restaurant & Takeaway
Across the courtyard we all have a farm kitchen restaurant which is open daily until 4.45pm, serving up hearty, home-made local produce alongside real barista coffees and lush, tasty cakes. In a dash? No problem – all of our homemade rolls, sandwiches and drinks can be taken away and enjoyed later.
Fresh Fish
If you visit us on Thursdays or Fridays you can pick up some goodies from the local fishmonger, Ferry Fish.
After you’re done with shopping and lunch explore our nature trail, offering a breath of fresh air (quite literally). You can take a wander and spot birds from our bird huts and during various times of the year we have Belted Galloway’s and Shetland ponies.
Kilnford Farm Shop is not limited to food, Eden of Dumfries also take up residence in our courtyard where you can purchase luxury bouquets and unique gifts.
